Low Ze Xuan from 2025 batch hosted a workshop about binary exploitation. In the workshop, he covered format string vulnerabilities, buffer overflows, stack canaries, libc leaks, return-oriented programming, and stack alignment.
Megat Found a Vulnerability in Spotify!
Megat recently became a rich person when found a bug in Spotify and responsibly, for money of course, submitting it via HackerOne, one of the MCC2025 sponsors! Megat said that after spending a few days analyzing the platform and testing different behaviors, he identified a flaw that allowed users to gain permissions they should not have had. The report was quickly triaged, and the issue was resolved in about a week and a half. It was a rewarding first experience in real-world security research and bug bounty hunting.
